SS-8000 Industrial Smokestack Coating
Industrial smokestacks are normally coated with crystalline high temperature organic compositions to extend service life. Typical conditions include: cyclic heat to 650F, steam/water vapor, acidic vapors and particulate exposure. The organic coatings are stable under the defined conditions but problems arise when the smokestack is heat cycled. (normal operation or as part of a shut down) As the stack cools, cracks form in the crystalline organic coating due to the differential in themal expansion between the coating and the base material. The organic coating does not offer the flexibility required to offset the differences in thermal expansion. SS-8000 solved the cracking problem with the ability to expand and contract with the parent material over the course of hundreds of heat cycles. SS-8000 met all the design requirements and offers superior heat resistance versus the antiquated crystalline organic coating.

SS-1000 Energy Dampening Gel
Combat units from all branches of the U.S. military have been experiencing Behind Armor Blunt Trauma (BABT) due to the massive force generated by armor piercing rounds impacting the hard rifle plates used in tactical armor. The round is "stopped" by the ceramic plate but the resulting transfer of energy to the soft tissue can cause heart attack, convulsion, ruptured intenal organs, broken bones and even death. SS-1000 is an energy dampening gel with extremely low cross-link density that was developed through live-fire testing (Video) of numerous different formulations and thicknesses. The very high energy dissipation of SS-1000 was able to eliminate over 50% of the energy transferred to soft tissue thus reducing BABT and potentially saving countless lives.
